Software Testing: The AI Mind Shift You Need
AI is a mindset shift, not a shortcut. Before I open Claude or ChatGPT, I stop and work out the logic myself, because a rushed prompt gives you a rushed answer every single time. In this video I walk through how I actually approach a task with AI as a tester. It starts before the prompt. I pause, I think about what logically has to happen for the task to be finished, and only then do I write anything. The other half nobody talks about is the output. I do not just tell the AI what to do. I tell it exactly what I want back, the format, the tone, the structure, whether it should sound professional or loose. Then, because old habits die hard, I build validation right into the prompt and into memory, so it checks its own spelling, its own logic, and whether the thing even sounds human before it hands it to me. What we cover in this video: Why AI is a thinking discipline before it is a tool How to work out the logic of a task before you write a single prompt Specifying the output, not just the request, for format, tone, and structure Why rushing a prompt guarantees a weak result Building validation and self-checks into your prompts and into memory Why this mindset matters more for testers than almost anyone Here is what I want to know. What is the worst output you ever got from a prompt you clearly rushed? Drop it in the comments so we can all feel a little better. Subscribe if you want the honest version of working with AI, not the hype version. That is the whole channel. #softwaretesting #aitesting #promptengineering #qaengineering #claudeai
