How to Use TypeScript Interface in Playwright BDD Framework | Employee Data
In this video, we continue building our Enterprise Playwright BDD Framework and learn how to use a TypeScript Interface with our existing employee creation flow. In the previous video, we learned what a TypeScript Interface is, including mandatory and optional properties. Now, instead of keeping that concept only in theory, we are going to apply it to our real Playwright BDD framework. In this video, we will: ✅ Create an `EmployeeData` interface ✅ Define the structure of employee test data ✅ Replace `any` with `EmployeeData` in the EmployeeService ✅ Update TestDataGenerator to return `EmployeeData` ✅ Understand why TestDataGenerator generates the actual values ✅ Understand how EmployeeData flows through ScenarioContext and EmployeeService ✅ Improve type safety in our automation framework ✅ Reuse the existing employee creation flow without creating a new feature The data flow we discuss in this video is: EmployeeData Interface → TestDataGenerator → ScenarioContext → EmployeeService → EmployeePage → OrangeHRM This is a practical example of how TypeScript Interfaces can be used in a real-world Playwright automation framework instead of using `any`. If you are learning Playwright, TypeScript, Cucumber BDD, and Page Object Model and want to build an enterprise-style automation framework step by step, this series will help you understand how the different framework components work together. 📌 Prerequisite: Make sure you have the Enterprise Playwright BDD Framework project cloned and available on your machine before following this video.
