Claude Code review, explained: the 7-step system the Claude Code team uses now that Claude writes ~90% of their code — and the one catch in step 1 most teams miss. ▶ Make Claude prove it with Kane CLI: https://www.testmuai.com/kane-cli/agents/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=make-claude-prove-it&utm_term=QxsJVbOkluU From June to September, merged pull requests to Claude Code more than doubled, while the share that had to be reverted fell by more than 40%. In "How the Claude Code team does code review" (claude.dev, Oct 15, 2026), Addy Osmani, Morgan Westlee Lunt and Qing Wang shared how. CHAPTERS 00:00 2:13 a.m. — Claude says "done" 00:20 The team that builds Claude Code 00:57 Their seven steps 01:43 The catch in step one 02:00 The verifier: Kane CLI 02:51 Same bug, proven THE CLAUDE CODE REVIEW PROCESS, IN 7 STEPS 1. Prove it before anyone looks — Claude runs tests, a build or a screenshot and shows the result instead of saying "done." A second agent reviews the diff with fresh context. 2. AI review on every pull request — agents hunt for bugs in parallel; others vote on which findings are real. (Code Review for Claude Code, /code-review, or the Claude Code GitHub Action.) 3. Security review that can block the merge — /security-review or the security review GitHub Action. 4. Checks that block — lint, types, tests on every platform, a build. Red means nothing merges. 5. Humans read the evidence — approval is scaled by risk, and an agent's approval never counts as a person's. 6. Merge queue and gradual release — every check runs again on the newest code; new behavior ships behind a flag. 7. Fast rollback — and every incident becomes a test case the AI reviewer is scored against. THE CATCH IN STEP 1 (our take) If the same agent writes the code, writes the test and grades the result, that's homework marking itself. Proof only counts when it comes from somewhere the agent can't edit. KANE CLI: AN INDEPENDENT VERIFIER FOR CLAUDE CODE After every change, Claude runs one plain-English check. Kane CLI opens a real browser, uses your app like a person, and answers with an exit code: 0 passed, 1 failed. Every run leaves evidence — step screenshots, console and network logs, and a link for your pull request. Save a passing check and it guards that feature on every PR.
