I Let Claude Code Take Control Of My Android TV And It Built Me A Custom Home Screen
My Android TV was 98% full, the home screen was covered in ads, and it came with Samba TV built in, a tracker from a company that is not Sony. I gave Claude Code access to it over my Wi-Fi with one loose prompt. It freed the storage from 108 MB to 1.4 GB, asked me which apps I use before it removed 11 of them, switched off Samba TV and the telemetry apps, and then built me a new home screen from source on my Mac, with my own photos and my YouTube subscriber count on it. cleanyourtv on GitHub: https://github.com/gathin23/cleanyourtv 🆓 Free live lesson with me: https://www.genaiunplugged.com/free-lesson/ 🎓 Claude Code Builder, my 6-week live cohort: https://maven.com/genaiunplugged/claude-code-builder 👥 Train your team on Claude Code: https://www.genaiunplugged.com/team-training/ In this video I show how the Claude code took control of my TV and the agent got in (ADB, and the three switches you have to open yourself), what it cleaned up, the moment I pushed back and Claude changed its answer, and the one catch with the undo before a factory reset. Everything it changed can be put back with one command. A note before you try this The TV in this video is a Sony BRAVIA 4K VH2 on Google TV. Claude Code asked before every change, checked before the risky ones, and saved a way back, and I still kept each step reversible. Samba TV only recognises what you watch if you agreed to it during setup, and only through the TV's tuner and anything plugged in by HDMI, not apps like Netflix. If you change your home screen this way, run the restore script with --home-only before any factory reset. This video is not a guarantee for your TV model.
