Did AI make my $100K CMU master's useless?
Is a CS master's still worth it now that AI can teach you so much? I did my master's at Carnegie Mellon, ranked the #1 graduate computer science program, and I'd still go, for a different reason than most people expect. Randy Pausch, the CMU professor behind The Last Lecture, called them head fakes: the lessons you learn while you think you're learning something else. Much of the machine learning I studied has changed, and what stayed with me was the ability to learn difficult things, the confidence to take on unfamiliar problems, and the standards I hold myself to. The bigger lesson: the right people, environment, expectations and challenges can change you, and they're worth choosing on purpose. #CMU #CarnegieMellon #MastersDegree #ComputerScience #GradSchool
