How do you deal with messy bug reports from testers?

Hi all,
I once work in QA and a big part of my week is rewriting messy bug reports
from testers into something devs can actually use
Same gaps every time no steps, no environment and vague wording
Trying to figure out if other teams deal with this too, before I spend
time building anything around it. Not selling anything, just curious
If this sounds familiar, could I ask you a couple of quick questions would really appreciate it
- How do bug reports reach you today, and who files them (in-house testers, external clients, crowd testers)?
- Walk me through the last messy or unclear report you got. What was missing?
- Who rewrites unclear reports into something developers can act on, and roughly how long does that take in a week?
- What goes wrong when a report is unclear (duplicates, back-and-forth, a bug that got missed or shipped)?
- Has a bad report ever caused a real problem, like a delayed sprint or something reaching production?
- What tools do you use for this now (Jira, BugHerd, Marker.io, Jam, spreadsheets), and what do you pay?
- Have you tried anything to fix this that did not work?
- If this problem were solved, who would decide to pay for it, you or someone above you?
- What else about filing or cleaning up reports frustrates you that I have not asked about?
- Who else deals with this that I should talk to?
