I asked Claude a deceptively simple question — what is software testing? — and then, as someone who's spent 20 years in QA, I sat down and graded the answer line by line. What surprised me is how much it got right. Claude didn't just say "testing finds bugs." It walked through verification versus validation, functional and non-functional testing, and the difference between unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing. It even landed the point most people miss: the goal of testing isn't to prove the software works, it's to reduce risk and catch the important problems early, while they're still cheap to fix.
