3 Reasons Not to QUIT Software Testing
Thinking about quitting software testing? You are about to leave at the exact moment the job gets more valuable. I wrote three reasons to stay on paper and ripped two of them up on camera. Only one survives. Here is the problem. 84 percent of developers now use AI tools, and Veracode found that AI-written code introduces a security flaw 45 percent of the time. More code is shipping faster than any human can read it, and testers are walking out the door while it happens. In this video I go through the three reasons people give for staying, show why the first two fall apart under pressure, and land on the one reason that does not get automated. If you are a tester, an SDET, or a QA lead who has been quietly updating a resume, this is the eight minutes I would want you to watch first. What we cover: The AI code flood and why volume alone will not save your job BLS and PwC data on testing jobs, AI skills, and the 56 percent wage premium Why market arguments are weather and fail in the next bad quarter Professional skepticism as the one skill AI cannot generate Almost right, but not quite: the 66 percent developer frustration that is our entire profession Three things to do Monday morning if you are staying in software testing I wrote up the full breakdown on QA Revolution, including every source and the prompts I use to catch almost right code before it ships. Read it here: https://qarevolution.com/worst-time-to-quit-software-testing/ Tell me in the comments: what is the one bug you caught that AI would have shipped? Not one you read about. One from your own team. I read every comment and the best ones end up in a future video. Subscribe if you are staying in software testing. The next video is me handing Claude a real test suite and showing you exactly where it lies. #softwaretesting #qaengineering #aitesting #qacareer #claudeai
