QA Ops Engineer
A QA Ops Engineer focuses on the infrastructure and tooling that testing runs on — test environments, CI/CD pipeline integration, test data management, and reporting dashboards — treating test infrastructure itself as a product to be engineered and maintained, similar to how DevOps treats production infrastructure.
As automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines grow, the infrastructure underneath them — environment provisioning, test data seeding, parallel execution orchestration, flaky test management, reporting — becomes a real engineering problem in its own right, distinct from writing the tests themselves.
A QA Ops Engineer typically works closely with DevOps and platform teams, applying similar infrastructure-as-code and automation principles specifically to testing concerns — keeping test environments consistent and reproducible, managing the compute cost and speed of a growing test suite, and building the dashboards and tooling that make test results visible and actionable across the organization.
